Welcome! If you're reading this, you have found your way to the first-ever JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes Coaches Blog. We're hoping this will be a way for us to share ideas, training tips & tools, frustrations, jokes, and whatever else comes up as we coach our riders for six incredible events in 2009.
Why this blog address...Safe, Sound, and Smiling? If you've coached for or even been to any JDRF Ride to Cure, you've heard Tim St.Clair's ride day mantra. Our job as coaches is this: To get each rider to the finish line safe, sound, smiling, and under their own power. So let's stay focused on this job of ours, and remind each other of it as we coach these great people to extraordinary experiences in Sonoma, Kansas City, Killington, Whitefish, Death Valley, and Tucson.
Anyone can comment on the contributions made to this blog. If you would like to be added as a contributor (the more the merrier!), just send a quick e-mail to Nicole Nelles from the West Michigan team, and she'll get you all set up.
If you have any links you would like posted on the right rail of this blog, send those Nicole's way as well. There are a few things there now, but hopefully we can fill it up with lots of resources and cool stuff from all over the country.
Ride on.
