VT hill training

So, based on what we know about the elevation on the VT route, what does this group think about specific hill training for this particular course? A healthy mix of hard intervals and long climbs is probably what's prescribed and makes the most sense...but for the more experienced coaches out there--anything specific to share with our riders? A couple are asking, and I have some general info to fall back on, plus MC Knows a Ton right here in my area, but wondered what other philosophies and ideas are floating around out there......

  1. I like to end the training rides with a nice, big climb, usually 6-7 miles. That way the ride it tired, and really push through to the finish.
